Vitamin C Serum

If you haven’t already figured it out, I am a skincare junkie, and I blame my mama for that!

I like to brag that I have been on the Korean skincare wave before it became a thing, and that’s all thanks to my mom. She would always walk around the house with a face mask that usually smelled yummy, and had the coolest Korean skincare products. Growing up, my mother would constantly highlight the importance on taking care of your skin, specifically to moisturize (face/body) and protect (sunscreen). Of course I wasn’t allowed to use all her products due to age, but as I got older she would introduce and recommend products that I should start using based on my age. One of them was vitamin C, and let me tell you, I never looked back. Vitamin C has so many amazing benefits, and you can start using it as early as 18. It brightens the skin and protects against environmental damage such as UV rays (eek wear sunscreen), pollution (yuk), free radicals, and most importantly repairs skin blemishes (we’ve all been there)!
When brown spots start to appear on the skin from sun exposure, it is time to use vitamin C. When skin loses its natural glow, it is time to use vitamin C. When there are red marks left behind from breakouts and they don’t heal quickly or at all, it is time to use vitamin C.

Now enough chit chat, here are the top 3 reasons you should use vitamin C

Brightening – Who doesn’t want a natural glow? Vitamin C can help fade pigmentation; it smooth’s the skin’s texture to reduce dullness. Hence, brightening the skin, giving it a healthy glow.

Firming – Collagen production is tied to skin elasticity and firmness. Collagen levels begin to drop as you age, it is inevitable, and due to collagen loss your skin begins to sag. Applying vitamin C serum boosts collagen production, which results in skin tightening/firming. Goodbye saggy skin.

Hyperpigmentation – Skin discoloration includes, sun spots, melisma, acne spots, and age spots. It usually occurs when melanin is overproduced in certain areas of the skin, and happens where acne has healed. Applying vitamin C has shown to fade dark spots and lead to a more even-toned complexion.

Ingredient and percentage to consider

Ascorbic acid (L-ascorbic acid) – When mixed with other antioxidants or used alone at high concentrations such as 15% or 20%, it is a fast and effective. Lower concentrations may not be as effective.

I promise you, this is an investment you wont regret, take care of your selves always!
