I am all about being efficient and simple, I am sure I have mentioned that before (maybe too many times at this point).
I do not like to overwhelm people when it comes to guiding them in fashion. I am all about helping the lazy and the busy. Someone who does not want to put too much effort into fashion, and someone who does not have the time to put effort into fashion.
When I go out I love to dress up, but I also have those days when I do not want to waste too much energy thinking on what to wear (wow so exhausting *rolls eyes*).
With that being said, there are three things I take into consideration that you should too; color, season, and ambience.
Color – Keep it simple and keep it under 2 color choices. Neutrals are the way to go! Personally, my go to color is black (honestly majority of my closet is black articles of clothing). Although not the ideal summer color, you cannot argue that black looks good on everyone. In addition, black on black matches, a black top, black bottoms, black shoes; you can never go wrong with those choices. Simple but chic.
Season – “What is the weather for today?” Is it hot, cold, chilly, humid, “nice”?
You pick your clothes based on the weather. Once again, very simple. If it is cold outside, for example (using the color black), black pants/jeans, long sleeve black shirt/sweater, and if needed a coat (can be any color because you will take it off anyway). If it is hot outside, black tank/t-shirt and black shorts/skirt. As for shoes, are you going to be walking on snow, will it be raining, can you wear open shoes, or are closed toe shoes better.
Ambience – The most important of them all; where will you be going? Will the atmosphere be laid back and casual, or will it be more on the fancier, dressier side.
Now this one may sound tricky, but it really is not, you can wear whatever you want (yes ladies you can wear shorts, sorry men, I recommend you do not if the place is dressy), and the make or break it of your outfit will be your shoes. If the venue is casual, aim for a small heel, a sandal, boots, and/or sneakers. If the venue is fancy; high heels (heeled boots, sandals) and dress shoes – please no sneakers.
I hope you found this helpful!
