I love matching outfits to the places I go! Does anyone else do that?
Thankfully NYC is on its way to getting back in business; we have a few restaurants that are open and a lot of outdoor venues to go to. I have been wanting to go to this particular restaurant for quite some time now, Gitano, because of how it looks. To me Gitano has a Miami and concrete jungle vibe (get it, NYC is a concrete jungle…ok nevermind…cue Alicia Keys) and lots and lots of palm trees. The point is for you to not feel like you’re in New York City.
Being that I was going there during the day, and I wanted to dress up, I made sure to keep my outfit casual while adding subtle dressy elements. It is definitely hard to style a day time outfit, you don’t ever want to be too flashy or too club like – check out my blog Simple But Chic for more information on how I choose my day to day outfits.
I like to call this day time style, casual chic (or Simple but Chic)! An everyday outfit, but with dressier shoes and accessories to go with it.
The outfit I chose was a pink tank top, with a cool cut out on the side (shout out to my mom, it’s her top from the 90’s), and light washed denim shorts. Very simple and comfortable, nothing over the top. You can wear this outfit with sneakers, sandals, and small heels! All those combos are very well styled and you will not go wrong with matching different types of shoes to this type of outfit. Since it is summer, I chose to style my outfit with small white heels and a white coin purse. Light colors tend to freshen up an outfit as opposed to dark colors, and anyway, darker colors are preferred more for a night time look. Trust me you would see a difference with light shoes and dark shoes.
To conclude, not only did I feel super comfortable wearing my outfit, but I also felt chic. I matched the ambience of the restaurant, and the color combo was perfect for a beautiful hot summer day.
I hope you found this helpful!
