My love for neon’s is quite recent. I am not a fan of color. I am a true New Yorker; majority of my closet consists of black articles of clothing, with a few splashes of neutral (so mostly dark clothes). Can you imagine how easy laundry is for me, everything is one color.
As of lately though I have been venturing out of my usual color preference, especially during the summer season. I do have to admit that wearing black in the summer gets hot. If you didn’t know, black absorbs all wavelengths of light and converts them into heat; hence why wearing black on a sunny summer day may not be the greatest idea.
Out of the many neon colors there are, I have been obsessed with neon green because of how refreshing it looks! I have noticed that at times neon’s can definitely be somewhat tacky and seem like a club outfit, and that is why styling them correctly is important. Of course it also depends on the type of look you are going for, but for now let’s stick to a fresh summer look. Since neon green is such a loud color, pair it up with subtle colors, for example: white/light colored bottoms, white/light colored shoes, and/or a bag that matches your shoes. Pairing neutral and light colored articles of clothing to neon colors creates a well combined look, color combination is much more important than people think.
