MADE IN THE USA

“Made in the USA” don’t you just love seeing that tag?!

I know I do, and I definitely appreciate it, and here is why you should too.

I would like to share something small about myself, a little insight into my future. One day I will own a fashion brand. All of my designs will be exclusive and quality made. A big priority to me is to have my fashion brand made domestically, and by domestic I mean my home country, The United States of America. Now I may not be originally from the USA, but the majority of my life was spent on this land. I am extremely grateful for all the opportunities and resources it gave me, and I want to give back. The first step to giving back is buying domestically!

I promise I won’t get too political, but there are a number of reasons as to why buying USA made products is important. Buying American-Made products isn’t only a patriotic move, but a step towards achieving a brighter future. You are supporting the entire country just by buying domestic goods. Essentially when we do that, we are contributing to a more sustainable future, and why wouldn’t you want that? Given the difficult times that we are in, it is that much more crucial to buy from small and local businesses. Supporting them means, supporting the economy, and best of all, you are supporting families, which in my opinion is beautiful. When you support a local business or anything USA made, it reinforces the strength of local communities, as well as our Nation from the inside out.

Another great reason as to why you should buy and support American-Made products is because you are providing jobs for future generations, I mean how awesome is that. Our future matters, and we are in charge of our future with the decisions we make today. Ever heard of the term “vote with your dollar”? Manufacturing in the USA means more jobs for you, me, your family, friends, and for future Americans. It is guaranteed jobs for the people in the land of the free. When you create a demand for something, in simpler terms, this tells us that more labor will be needed to create that demand. That being said, demand for American-made products means that more people will be needed to create those American-made products. Which in result creates jobs (ya see where i’m getting at).

There are many more important factors, especially foreign, that I will not be getting into in this blog. I will save that for another time, but I will finish off with three more reasons as to why you should buy domestically. Quality, fair working conditions, and the environment. At times quality does indeed go hand in hand with foreign trade (that whole thing will be in another blog). “Made in the USA” demonstrates pure admirable craftsmanship and superiority in product. Foreign imports do not guarantee quality, nor do they convey longevity. In addition, the USA has its own laws on safety regulations, and rights to employees. Foreign countries may not have the same level of health and safety concerns/practices as the USA, and that is contributing to unsafe conditions for thousands of workers that I personally do not support. Last but not least, buying American-Made products is better for the environment! When we invest in USA made products, we are doing our part in keeping our environment clean, for our generation, and for generations to come. Here is a small environment article I found explaining the “why” in greater detail – click me.

I know what you’re going to tell me, “But Diana, USA made items are expensive”, oh I know trust me, but ask yourself this, why wouldn’t you want quality made items that will last you way longer than none quality items. If you think about it, you are spending more money buying something over and over again due to the lack of quality, so in reality, you’re actually saving money by buying something a little pricier but quality made. I promise you, that you are helping the people in your communities and your country by supporting American-Made products. It is a great benefit to us personally, as well as for the USA to grow and advance economically.

Support your local businesses, support your local brands, and support USA made products!
